History and Importance of Pavagadh, near Champaner, Gujarat
Pavagadh is hill station in Panchmahal district of Gujarat and around 46 km far from Vadodara. The Mahakali Temple on Pavagadh hill is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations and one of the 51 Shakti peeth and one of the oldest temple in Gujarat. It is believed that right foot of Ma Devi Sati fallen down on the Pavagadh hill. Historical city Champaner is at base of the Pavagadh hills or Pavagadh Manchi another well known word.
The area around this Champaner Pavagadh Archeology Park has been declared heritage site by Unesco. The total height of the hill is around 820 mtrs, and devotee can reach around 500 mtrs by road also known as Pavagadh Manchi.
