History and Importance of Dakor
Dakor is a town in Kheda District of Gujarat and situated on the bank of Gomati Lake. Long year ago Dakor is known as Dankpur, a small village and famous for Danknath Mahadev, temple of Lord Shiva. Dakor had history from the Mahabharat time, when it was covered by dense Jungle known as Hidimba van, so it attracts many saints same like the Rishi Dank, who pleased the Lord Shiva and asked to stay here in Ashram so Lord Shiva left his replica in form of ling, over the period it is known as Danknath Mahadev for long time.
