Modhera, the ancient historical place of Mehsana district is located on bank of river Pushpavati. Though Modhera is small village but it is very popular across the world for its majestic Sun temple also known as Modhera Surya Mandir built in 11th century by Bhimadev Solanki I of the Chaulukya dynasty. Modhera is also associated with Ramayana period, it is said the Lord Shree Ram had performed Yagya here to cleanse sin of killing Ravana, the Brahmana son.
