Ajanta, the small village of Sillod Taluka of Aurangabad district, Maharashtra, India is major tourist attraction due to Ajanta Caves – UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located on Jalgaon – Aurangabad, at 94 km from Aurangabad and 62 km from Jalgaon. There are around 30 rock cut Buddhist Cave monument – the masterwork of Buddhist Art, dated back to 2nd century BCE to 5th century CE. This was declared as UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983 and currently managed and protected by Archaeological Survey of India.
