Galta Ji Temple at Jaipur is a great place for the devotees 10 km to the east of Jaipur city having a great historical significance. The temple is a cluster of several temples with the main temple of Galtaji. The temples are built within a narrow otherwise of a mountain pass in the Aravali Hills.
The temple has several sacred tanks that are called kund and pilgrims for bathing there and washing their sins. These Kunds are very popular and have natural springs that are high on the hill and make their way downward filling all seven sacred kunds, the Galtaji kund is considered to be the holiest of all. Kunds here and of great significance to date.
Very few people know that this temple is a free historic Temple that dates to the 18th century. It is believed that Saint Galav spent 100 years meditating over here.
The temple is known for its natural beauty and the water from which accumulates in seven kunds as told earlier in the article. It is considered to be auspicious when you take a bath from these kunds, especially on Makar Sankranti.
When should one visit Galtaji Temple?
The best time to visit is in November two February. Many visitors visit this temple in mid-January because of the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. This place is very much fond of occasions they love to gather on special days. Whereas summers are found to be too hot here it is suggested to visit in winters. You can visit in the early console as well to enjoy the cutie of distance and nearby area.
Famous History of Galtaji Temple
Maharaja Jai Singh is the person who established this temple in the pink city of Jaipur with royal architecture. There are many temples and places that are famous around the city. And Galtaji is one of them. It was developed by Raja Sawai Jaisingh and is named after Saint Gallav who stayed here and meditated for over 100 years. It is believed that due to his dedication God appeared in front of him and was placed with abundant water. The place never gets dry, there is water always flowing which is found to be a blessing for every devotee.
Ganpati temple is famous for its architecture and looks as well. With the painted walls and carved pillars, the compound made of pen stands dedicated to Lord Sun Galtaji has a temple of Rama Gopal beautifully architecture and designed. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Rama; the single idol in the temple seems to be both Lord Krishna and Lord Rama.
What are the Entry Fees of GaltaJi Temple?
There is no entry fee for the visitor. It is just the charger, a camera or a mobile phone for one digital camera. They charge 150 INR for taking mobile phones and recharge 100 INR. Inside the temples you can donate any amount if you want to, it is not compulsory at all.
Timings of Galtaji Temple
GaltaJi Temple is open from morning 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on all weekdays. You can wake up early and visit this temple for the lovely you and mesmerizing pooja.
