According to popular belief, the temple's shrine idol is a natural divine revelation which occurred spontaneously on 25 April 2008, Friday at 5:00 pm in the presence of abundance of devotees. A few seconds before the revelation, the existing divine idol pronged itself. On the festive occasion of Ganga Dashera, the remains of the idol were immersed in holy Neel Dhaaraa of Haridwar. During this process, the holy remains of the Hanuman idol lifted itself from palanquin where in it was being carried, wrapped in a Ramnami (a shawl on which the holy name of Lord Rama is inscribed).
