Charan Pahari, one of the key attraction along with Nand Bhavan, Pavan Sarovar and Nandishwar Temple is located on southwest side of Nand Gaon, near road to Kamyavana in Mathura District, Uttar Pradesh. Charan Pahari also spelled as Charan Pahadi is very popular amongs the devotee as it has feet impression of Shri Krishna. Thus every year thousands of tourist visit here around the year for the Darshan of foot print of their beloved Lord Shri Krishna.
It is believed that Bal Krishna reached on top of hill and played his flute to bring cows back after grazing. It is said the the sound of flute is sweet and impressive that entire hill started melting and thus the foot print of Lord Krishna manifested here on hill. Also, the foot print of all other gopas, gopis and hooves are manifested on hill on hill in nearby area. This print are clearly visible even after more than 5000 year.
As per local folklore, Nandisvara hill, the form of Lord Shiva is located in Nand Gaon. Once lord Krishna had played his flute and lord Shiva was so impressed that Nandisvara hill started melting. Thus foot print of Bal Krishna had manifested on hill along with his friends. It is also said that Akrurji and Uddhavji had seen this foot print during their visit to Nand Gaon.
