Chintaharan Ghat is one of the famous ghat on bank of holy river Yamuna in Gokul near Brahmand Ghat and houses the Chintaharan Mahadev temple of Chinteshwar Mahadev Temple. This quite unexplored Ghat and surrounding area is so peaceful where you can spents hours in Meditation, Yoga or Sadhana. As name suggest Chintaharan Mahadev means lord Shiva who liberates the soul of all worries as Chinta means worries and Haran means to take away.
Interesting legend associated with this place, when Yashoda Maiya saw the universes in Kanhaiya’s mouth at Brahmand Ghat, she became extremely anxious and prayed to Chintaharan Mahadev for Krishna’s safety. Then she walked towards the Chintaharan Ghat and where all her worries about Bal Krishna and that event vanished. As per other folklore, lord shiva in form of saint was meditating at the place and called up Yashoda Maiya. When Yashodama reached the saint at the bank of Yamuna, Lord Shiva told that her son is not an ordinary child, but he is a supreme God himself. After listening this words of saint Yashoda was liberated from all her worries about Krishna. Thus Lord Shiva here is known as Chintaharan Mahadev. It is believed that one who visits this temple and pray to god, his all worries are vanished.
You can see the beautiful pavilions and domes built here on bank of the holy river Yamuna. Red sandstone is used in construction of these beautiful structures and carved railings.
Chintaharan Mahadev is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses the unique Shivlinga placed in center sanctum. You cannot find such Shivlinga across the world where 1,111 small lingas are carved in one Shivalinga. Idol of Maa Yashoda pulling ears of Bal Krishna for his mischievous is worshipped here. Idols of Hanuman ji, Balramji with his wife Revati are worshipped here. You can also see small temple of god Shani Maharaj in temple premise.
The best time to visit Chintaharan Ghat is between October and March when weather is pleasant and during festival like Holi and Janmashtami which are celebrated with great zeal in entire Braj.

Also you can easily find the public and private transport, auto rickshaw for the local sightseen and visit nearby Yatradham like Mathura, Barsana, Vrindavan, Jatipura, Govardhan Hill, Nandgaon etc.
Raman Reti and Nand Bhavan are other key religious attraction here in Purani Gokul. There are Sri Brahmand Ghat, Gokulnathiji Temple, Rang Bihari Temple etc. are located here in Gokul.
