Thakurani Ghat is one of the most famous ghat on bank of holy river Yamuna in Gokul along with Brahmand Ghat and Shri Govind Ghat. It is said that Shree Yamuna Maharani appeared in front of Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji here at Thakurani Ghat. Thus this Ghat is believed to be highly sacred in follower of Vaishnavs of Vallabhsampraday. Serene Surroundings and pious environment of Gokul attracts the Shri Vallabhacharya a lot and thus he decided to stay here forever and offer his lifelong services to Lord Krishna and his land. At this place only he had started giving initiation - diksa to devotees.
The best time to visit Thakurani Ghat is between October and March when weather is pleasant and during festival like Holi and Janmashtami which are celebrated with great zeal in entire Braj.
