Brahmand Ghat, one of the most popular pilgrimage site of Gokul along with Nand Bhavan and Raman Reti is the place where Bal Krishna had shown the entire universe or Akhil Brahmand to Yashoda Maiya in his mouth. Thus, this Ghat becomes famous as Brahmand Ghat. It is located on bank of holy river Yamuna, in Old Gokul also called Purani Gokul near the Nand Bhavan, Raman Reti and just 15 km away from Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Gokul wintess the lots of Bal lila, miracles, mischief, devine pastime of Lord Krishna, in which Brahmand Ghat hold high religious importance. Thus it attracts thousands of devotee and tourist here around the year during their visit of Braj Mandal.
Interesting legend is associated with Brahmand Ghat, Bal Krishna, Balramji along with his friends used to play here at Brahmand Ghat. One day, Krishna had eaten some mud while playing here. While Yashoda Mata came to know about this act and confirmed by Balaramji, she reached here and told Krishna to open his mouth. Bal Krishna opened his mouth, where Yashoda Mata saw countless universes, limitless Brahmas, Vishnu and Mahesh, Sun, Moon, Planets and all moving and non- moving things in his mouth. She closed her eyes with fear and thought, how is it possible that whole brahmand was absorbed in small mouth of his Lal. “What is this that I am seeing? It it an illusion or some magical powers?” Upon opening her eyes, she saw that Kanhaiya was sitting on her lap. Today, the Brahmand Ghat stands at the very spot where this incident is believed to have occurred.
After this divine event, the mud of this place – also known as Braj ki Raj, is considered as very pious. Thus devotee takes it along with them back to home for good luck and well being. You can also purchase packets of small mud balls which are sold here and it is also believed that even most fatal diseases can be cure with this Raj of Braj.
Huge premise of Raman Reti houses the Raman Bihariji Temple, Karshni Ashram, several huts constructed for sages, lake, Shivalaya, Peepal and Kadamb tree etc.
On this huge Ghat, small temple was built in memory of this event from where you can view the flow of Yamuna River. This mandir is dedicated to an event of Krishna’s life.
There is one ancient peepal tree near the temple on Brahmand Ghat, where female devotees ties ribbons on the branches of this peepal tree and ask for a blessing for a long life of their husband.
There is one cow shed here at Bhramand Ghat.
The best time to visit Brahmand Ghat is between October and March when weather is pleasant and during festival like Holi and Janmashtami which are celebrated with great zeal in entire Braj.

It is said that every street of Gokul had been witness the mischief and devine activities of Bal Krishan and his friend which makes city live today even after 5000 years. You can find Krishna temple in every street of Gokul, few most famous one is Nanda Bhavan also called Chaurasi Khamba Temple. It is believed the Lord Krishna spent his childhood in this house thus believed as very holy in follower of Vaishnava Sect.
Raman Reti and Nand Bhavan are other key religious attraction here in Purani Gokul. There are Sri ThakurRani Ghat, Gokulnathiji Temple, Rang Bihari Temple etc. are located here in Gokul.
