Narayana Sarovar, one of the five sacred lake of Sanatan Dharma holds high importance in the followers of Pushtimarg tradition of Vaishnava as here 63rd Bethakji of Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji out of 84 sacred bethakji is located. Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji was the founder of Pushtimarg tradition of Vaishnava one of six major schools of Hinduism. Bethakji or Bethak literally meaning is seat which are sacred site attached with Mahaprabhuji where he visited and gave discourse on sacred text of Sanatan Dharma like Vedas, Ramayana, Bhagvata Gita etc. Here at Narayana Sarovar, Shri Mahaprabhuji visited here near the place of Ashram of the great sage Markandeya. Here Mahaprabhuji had mentioned that Narayana Sarovar is the blessing of Lord and holy bath in lake helps devotee to remove his sin and attain salvation. Vallabhacharya had taken holy bath in lake and began his teachings on the Bhagavatam. It is said that Lord Shiva also came to listen.
