Madhavpur Ghed is highly sacred place of followers of Pushtimarg tradition of Vaishnava as there is 66th Bethakji of Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji out of 84 sacred bethakji. Here at Madhavpur Ghed, Shri Mahaprabhuji Vallabhacharya stopped near Kadam Kund and mentioned to Damala, this is the place where Lord Krishna and Rukmuni were married and in this lake they bathed. It is also said that Mahaprabhuji had guided the Brahman on how to worship, bath, adorn dress of Lord, etc. Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji was the founder of Pushtimarg tradition of Vaishnava one of six major schools of Hinduism. Bethakji or Bethak literally meaning is seat which are sacred site attached with Mahaprabhuji where he visited and gave discourse on sacred text of Sanatan Dharma like Vedas, Ramayana, Bhagvata Gita etc. These seats are spread across India but mainly located in Braj region of Uttar Pradesh and western part of Gujarat. These locations for recitation are usually on banks of the rivers or lakes and quite groves in outside of towns or on sacred tree. Altogether there are 84 sites where Vallabhacharya gave discourses which are known as Baithakji and later on small shrine were built at that site.
