Govind Devji temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha, located in the City Palace complex of Jaipur in Rajasthan is one of the most significant temple for Vaishnavs outside of Vrindavan, Uttara Pradesh. This temple holds high spiritual values in devotee and tourist who visit Jaipur, Rajasthan. The idol of Govind Devji also called Bajrakrit was brought from Vrindavan by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II – the founder of Jaipur. The Govind Devji temple is one of the seven temples of Thakur of Vrindavan including Sri Radhavallabh ji, Shri Bankey Bihari Ji, Shri Govind Dev Ji, Madan Mohanji, Radha Raman temple, Radha Govind Temple, Radha Vallabh Temple.The Govind Devji temple has the super vibrant living spiritual atmosphere that brighten the heart of the every devotee towards the divine power of Lord Krishna and influence to mover from material world to eternal consciousness.
It is believed that the Idol of Lord Krishna was created by Bajranabh the Great Grand Son of Lord Krishna. As per belief before 5000 years when 13 years old Bajranabh asked his Grandmother about Lord Krishna's look. And he made three idols of Lord as per his Grandmother’s description. The first one came to be known as "Madan Mohanji" of which the feet of the idol looked like Krishna's feet. The second one which is known as "Gopinathji" of which chest of the idol was same as Krishna's chest. And the last one idol had the face exactly look like Lord Krishna, which is known as Govind Devji also popular as Bajrakrit. With time idols were lost but around 500 years ago the idol of Govinda was excavated by one of the disciples of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
In the temple campus, seven times in a day Aartis and Bhog are offered to the Lord Krishna. At that time Devotees are allowed to do a Darshan. Seven Darshans of Lord Krishna are Mangla, Dhoop, Shringar, Rajbhog, Gwal, Sandhya and Shayan.
Everyday thousands of visitors and tourists visit the temple from all around India. But on the day of Janmashtami and other festival, millions of people, devotee and tourist visit the temple and feel the aura in temple campus.
