Nagajjuna Dhamma is one of the meditation centre located in the town Nagarjunakonda near Nagarjuna Sagar Dam in Andhra Pradesh. It is formerly called as Nagajjuna Sagar. The chief abbot of Nalanda University, Shri great Acharya and monk Nagarjuna had established a University and the Meditation Centre. Vipassana is a one of the oldest meditation method which means to see things as they really are. It was rediscovered by Gautama Buddha more than 2500 years ago. This meditation removes all mental impurities and blesses with happiness. It taught us art of living, how to be happy, how to relief from the sadness.
It teaches us the deep connection between the mind and the body. The technique of the meditation is taught for 10 days residential courses in centre campus. Participants follow the code of discipline to achieve the happiness in their life. There are three main steps of the training. Firstly it teaches us how to abstain from killing, stealing, sexual activity, speaking falsely and intoxicants. Secondly, it helps us to develop certain mastery over the mind by learning to fix one’s attention on the natural reality of the ever changing flow of breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils and lastly it also teaches kindness towards all.
It is one of the best centre where one can find an invaluable tool with which to achieve and share real happiness with others. Indian Government is planning to develop Buddh Park in Nagarjuna Konda and as its part Vipasyana Centre is developed on hill in around 35 acres of land by Sri S. N. Goenkaji. The entire ten day course is free of cost as it is not taught for commercial purpose thus all expense of centre are managed through the donation.
How to reach Nagajjuna Dhamma Nagarjunakonda: As it is famous tourist and religious destination along with archaeological site. Tourist of many countries visit here around the year so it is very well connected by road, rail and air network. Macherla is the nearest railway station at 20 km from Nagarjunakonda and nearest airport is in Vijayawada situated at 65 km. By road, it is well connected to Hyderabad at 150 km, Guntur at 37 km and Vijayawada at 80 km. It has a good road connectivity with buses plying regularly from Hyderabad, Guntur and Vijayawada.
