The Haat Kalika temple dedicated to Goddess Kali is situated around the midst of dense deodar forests, at ancient historical town Gangolihat in Pithorgarh district in Uttarakhand. It is believed that thousand years ago Adi Guru Shankar Acharya – great sage of Sanatan Dharma had established this Shakti – Peeth. The army of kumaon regiment have a great faith in Haat Kalika, so before the every war, the armies come here to worship Kali Devi as Isht Devi.
Lot of stories attached with Haat Kalika Shakti Peeth Temple, few are, It is believed that the Goddesses Kali shifted her abode from west Bengal to this place. It is also said that every night in this temple goddess Kalika comes here to rest and some of the signs are also observed every morning. The holy fire burns at the temple site since ages and it is believed that it is the energy of the goddess Kalika. Many visitors and devotees comes here to seek blessings from Maa Kalika.
It is said that you will become healthy and wealthy if you offer flowers to Maa Kalika. In modern times, Saint Jangam Baba used to offer prayers at temple and in his dream Maa Kalika appeared and asked him to construct a Temple here. This temple is 13kms far from Patal Bhuvneshwar Cave so the visitors who visit Patal Bhuvneshwar come here to seek blessings from Maa. Apart from the Temple, it surrounding as the amazing view that one can watch.
