The Shakti temple is situated right in front of the Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi, on bank of river Bhagirathi, Uttarakhand. There is a trident or a Trishul the main attraction of Shakti Temple, being placed in a temple which is around 6 meters high and has a circumference of 90cm towards the bottom. It is believed that the upper part of the Trishul is made up of Iron, while the lower part is made up of copper. According to Hindu mythology it is said that Maa Durga had killed the Demon by using this Trishul. The myths says that if you try to loco mote this Trishul by applying your whole body weight it will not move an inch but if you try to loco mote it with your just one finger it will move. So the visitors and the devotees are getting attracted by this myth and they visit here to know the truth behind this myth.
