Deoria Lake or Deoria Tal also famous as Indra Sarovar or Lake of God is located at a distance of 3 kms from the villages of Mastura and Sari on the Ukhimath-Chopta road in Uttarakhand. Usually this is covered when the visitors visit Tungnath or the Chandrashila peak. The trek route is quite easy for the beginners. The lake is surrounded by wooded, lush greenery and it sets a panoramic scene for the visitors.
The water of the lake is so clear that in the morning you can see reflection of the Chaukhamba Peak. Its offers a view of Chopta, Tungnath and Chandrashila Peak to the right and the snow covered Chaukhamba, Bandarpunch, Kedar range and Kalang to the left. The Lake is located in the Nanda Devi Biodiversity Park so in the morning you can spot animals drinking water from the lake. According to the legends, it is believed that in this Lake Hindu Gods or the Devas used to bath in this Lake. It is also said that one of the Strongest Pandav Bhīma had built this lake in order to satisfy his thirst. It is also said that it is the place where Yaksha had asked queries to Panch Pandavas.
How to reach – you can reach via road to Sari village from Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar or Delhi. The nearest air connectivity is in Dehradun and the Railway route is in Rishikesh
