Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple is ancient temple, located in Chanod and more than 1000 years old.As per the myth, Kapilmuni â€“ son of sage Kashyapmini reached here at Chanod during the visit of pilgrimage of Narmada. He found this peacefull environment as best place for penance. He performed rigours penance for many years and found Shiv Linga with own name here. Thus this temple is become famous as Kapileshwar Mahadev mandir. This temple stands of 16 pillars and having painting of Mahabharata and Ramayana on the dome.
