History and Significance of Unai Mata Temple and Hot Water Spring, Unai, Navsari District
Unai Mata temple is located in small village Unai near Vansada Taluka, in Navsari district. The story of Unai Mata temple is related to time where Lord Shree Ram was passing by Dandakaranya forest, at present Dang. Lord Shree Ram came across of Ashram of sage Sharbhangs, devotee of Shree Ram. Sage was suffering from disease, thus Laksham requested Lord Rama to help to relieve the sage.
Lord Shree Ram release an arrow on ground and hot water emerged and amidst them there was a beatiful statue of goddess – Ushnamba Mata. Rishi Sharbhang then bathed in hot water spring and instantly cured of his ailmen. After this occasion it is believed that any ailing devotee bath in hot water with faith will restored his health. Gujarati term Hu Nai – means bath, the town was thus named as Unai and Ushnamba Mata known as Unai Mataji. This temple and hot water spirnt are ancient and historical, thus thousands of devotee visit here throughout the year.
The hot water spring release water at the speed of 2500 gallons of water per hr with approx temp of 56 celciuos. It contains large amout of minerals with medicinal and healing property. This water cures the sking and joints related problems thus attracts lots of people each day.
