History and Significance of Rameshwar Mahadev, Mandvi, Surat Distirct, Gujarat.
Rameshwar Mahadev temple is located on the bank of holy River Tapi near Mandvi in Surat district of Gujarat. It is believed that Lord Shree Ram passed by Mandvi area during his exile and he shot an arrow to ground and create Ram Sarovar and water of River Tapi flows in it. Lord Shree Ram worship Lord Shiva here and create a temple thus famous as Rameshwar Temple, God of Ram.
As per Hindu texts like Tapi Mahapuran, Tapi is daughter of Lord Sun and it is believed to be the oldest River of India. As per the mythology, when King Bhagirath was deep in mediation, Lord Shiva appeared in front of him and advised to perform penance at place like Rameshwar where Lord Shree Ram visited and take holy deep in sacred River Tapi which brings peace to devotee.
