History of Gopi Lake , Gopi Talav, Goprachar Tirth, near Dwarka
Gopi Talav or Goprachar Tirth is located 20 KM away from Dwakra. Lord Shree Krishna had spent his childhood in Gokul, Nandgaun and Vrundavan with friends and Gopi -milkmaid. Lord Shree Krishna played Raaslila with Gopis in Vrundawan, eat Makhan from earthen pot of Gopi. Once Lord Shree Krishna moved his kingdom to Dwarka, Gopi were missed Krishna too much.
Thus Gopis had decided to visit Dwarka and meet his Kanha. Gopis and Krishna met at Lake and played a Raas Lila in full moon night, thus this lake is known as Gopi Talav. At the end of Raas Lila Gopis decided to merge with Lord Shree Krishna, They transform into the golden clay called Chandan, thus it has been believed that even today we can found chandan clay called Gopi Chandan at Gopi Lake also called Goprachar. Devotee takes holy dip in Gopi Talav and removes all the sins.
