History and Significance of Khijada Temple, Jamnagar of Krishna Pranami Sampraday
Khijada temple is known as Shri 5 Navtanpuri Dham, located in centre of Jamnagar, founded by Nijanand Swami Shri Devchandreji the former Achraya of Shri Krishna Pranami sect in 1630. Thus this place is the founding site of the Pranami sect which promotes unity of all religion.
Earlier this holy place was a garden, once Shri Devchandraji reached here and took a small twig of Khijda tree to wash teeth and then tearing into two and planted them into ground. After time spent these grew into two big Khijada tree. Yet both of these trees are attached to the main wall of the shrine even after around 400 years. This is how this foundation temple of Krishna Pranami sect has been popular as Khijada temple all around the world.
Jamunaji Kuvo a well is another holy place in the temple campus, it is believed that water of holy river Yamuna was flooded here. Today there are around 600 temples of Krishna Pranami sect around the world where lots of devotee and followers perform worship.
