History and Significance of Parsi Agiyari, Fire Temple, Jamnagar
Parsi Agiyari also well known as Mirza Agiyari is located in the centre of Jamnagar near Town hall and Bhid Bhanjan Mahadev temple. This is the old fire temple and place of worship for Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian community with prayer hall built in 1931 and spread across 48000 square feet of land. Same as all other Agiyari or fire temple of whole Gujarat and India, entry is restricted to the Zoroastrians. As population of Parsi community in Jamnagar is low as compare to Navsari, Surat and other city thus there is few visitor come here for worship. But it is yet well maintained, beautiful design and wonderful peaceful place for prayer. Dharmashala is also built in campus of Agiyari to facilitate devotee from other city and state.
