History and Significance of Bhidbhanjan Temple, Jamnagar, Gujarat
Bhid Bhanjan Temple is one of the oldest sacred temples in Jamnagar, dedicated to Lord Shiva whose magnificence and twinkling attracts devotee and tourist. It is located near Bedi Gate, west of the town hall and built in a period where most structures were constructed with bit western influence but marvellous example of the Hindu architecture. This beautiful temple was constructed during the rule of Jam Rawal, the founder and first ruler of Jamnagar.
Bhidbhanjan Temple is the quite famous landmark of Jamnagar and well known for its architecture. Hindu-Rajput style of architecture reflects in each and every part of temple and exhibits meticulous carvings on the both the interior and exteriors walls along with the pillar as well. Silver work on the doors is a witnesses the craftsmanship that is found in Jamnagar. The gates of this temple are carved with an arc on top which makes this holy spot royal in look. The shikhara of the temple is inspired from the architecture of South Indian temples.
Bhid Bhanjan temple is visited by lots of locals, devotee and tourists and mainly during the Shravan month and on Maha Shivratri.
