Bethakji is the holy site for the followers of the Pushtimarg tradition of the Vaishnava Sampradaya. These sacred sites are related to Vallabhacharyaji – Mabhaprabhuji the founder of Pushtimarg and his descendants. There are total 142 Bethakji are consider as the sacred out of 84 of Shree Mahaprabhuji, 28 of his son Viththalanath Gusainji and 30 of his seven grandsons. Asarwa Bethakji is one of the 28 bethakji of Gusainji Viththalnath. Asarwa is part of Ahmedabad city, around 7 KM from airport and 4 km from railway station.
Legend of Shree Gusaiji Gokulnathji Bethak Asarava
Once, Gusaji was guest at home of Sevak Shree Bhaila Kotharije in Asarawa. Kotharije introduced his family member to Gusaiji including his son in low Shree Gopaldasji, husband of Gomati. Gopaldasji was born speechless. Gusaiji gave him speech with his ultimate power. Then Gopaldasji had created Vallabhakhyan in memory and characteristics of Shree Mahaprabhuji, Gusaiji and Thakor ji. Thus this holy text – Vallabhakhyan is as important as Shreemad Bhagwad. As this text was created at Asarwa, this Bethakji is quite famous and sacred for Pushtimarg Sampraday.
