Shree Aurobindo Ashram is also known as the Arvind Niwas or Aurobindo Niwas was built in 1896 at Dandi Bazar in Vadodara. This place is home of Sri Aurobindo, Indian philosopher, yogi, guru, poet, and nationalist. Ashram is established in the house of Rishi Aurobindo, where he stayed. Shree Maharaja Sivajeerao provided this house to Shree Aurobindo during his employment at the Vadodara State. Maharshi stayed for 13 years in Vadodara; during this he acquired mastery in Sanskrit, learnt other language, deeply studied political, cultural and other issue of India, started doing Yoga and realize the truth behind the spirituality. This is how, Vadodara was called the Karmabhoomi and Paundicherry was the Tapobhoomi of Shree Aurobindo. This Ashram contains the library, study room and other 23 various room. This is very well maintained garden and whole ashram. Life of Maharshi and the mother are narrated by lots of pictures.
