Shree Yajnavalkya was one of the great sages of India, well known for his extraordinary intelligence and wisdom. Shukla Yajurveda Samhita was written by the Roshi Yagnyavalkya. Lot of tales related to their birth place and birth time, one of this, he was son of Brahmarath and Sunanda, sister of Mahamuni Vaishampayana - disciples of saint Veda Vyasa and the Vedacharya of the Taittiriya section. They lived in in Chamatkarpur, todays Vadnagar, in the north of Gujarat. There is a folklore that says that Yajnavalkya was the incarnation or Manas Putra of Lord Brahma. It is believed that on the bank of Vishwamitra Sarovar – Lake or Rishi Talava, Vadnagar, the Ashram or Tapobhumi of saint Yajnyavalkya located.
