History, Facilities and Best Time to Visit Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Vadnagar, Gujarat
Hatkeshwar Mahadev is ancient and historical temple located outside the Vadnagar, Gujarat. Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple is the principal deity of Nagar Brahmin key pilgrimage site for devotee of Lord Shiva. Current temple was carved 17th century outside town named Hatkeshwar Mahadev as Hatak means Gold.
The roof of the sanctum has high towering Shikhar and walls are carved with various scenes of Mahabharata and Ramayana. This temple has the beautiful statue of Hindu deities, nine planets, incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Churning of ocean, Shankh, Airavat etc. This all sculptures are well preserved and worshipped in temple.
Various stories of Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple are mentioned in many holy text of Hinduism. This are attached with Lord Shiva, Ma Parvati, great sage Vyasa, Nagar Brahmin, Indra etc. It is also believed that temple built around 1800 years old and the Shivlinga of Shree Hatkeshver Mahadev goes till the bottom of the earth – Patal Lok.
