Shri Panchasara Jain Derasar is one of the largest and oldest jain temples of Patan located in Gungdipati Part of city. This ancient Jain temple was built in 7th century by King Vanrajsinh Chavda. He brought the idol of Lord Parshwanath seated in Padmasana posture from his native place – Panchasara thus temple famous as Jinalaya Vanraj Vihar and Panchasara Parshwanath Jain Derasar. This temple was destroyed by the Muslim invaders and then renovated many time and current structure built in stone surrounded by 51 small temple of main shrine. This Jain derasar is one of most visited and significant in Jain community where Hemchandracharya Jain Gyan Mandir contains valuable Jain manuscripts and some of which written in gold ink.
