Kutch Museum of Bhuj located opposite to Hamisar Lake, in heart of city is the oldest museum of Gujarat and established by Maharao Khengarji in 1877. Kshatrapa inscriptions of 1st century, various coins including Kori – Local Currency of Kutch, paintings, arms, kutchi style embroidery, sculpture, tribal culture and their art etc are the key attraction of the museum. Apart from this some wedding gifts of Maharao Sir Khengarji III are also exihibate here in museum. These all items are divided in major eleven galleries in museum in different respective section. This two storeyd excellent building of the museum was built in traditional Italian Gothic style user guidance of Jairma Duda Gajdhar and ground floor houses a statue of 'Airavata' made in Mandvi in the 18th century.
Timings to visit Kutch Museum: 10:00 am to 1:00 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30
