Aaina Mahal or Hall of Mirrors and Prag Mahal are located in same compound at Darbargadh Chowk, Bhuj, Gujarat, and stand as glory and heritage of Kutch and Bhuj till date. This excellent Palace was built during the rule of Lakhpatji in the 18th century. This was the dream palace of Lakhpataji and fulfil under the guidance of Ram Singh Malam – great architect with 17 years of experience in Europe. Ram Singh Malam had design excellent piece of art, ornamented with Venetian-style chandeliers, silver objects, clocks, local craft like scroll paintings, jewelled swords, ivory inlaid doors. Museum inside the Aina Mahal exhibits the paintings, photographs, royal possessions, Kutchhi local embroidery work, 15 m long scroll that represents the Royal Procession of Maharao Shri Pragmalji Bahadur. This two stoyrd building features Darbar Hall, hall of mirrors and suites of members of the royal family. This is how this palace is unique and extraordinary with respect to interiors and architecture.
