Kera, the small village around 20 km from Bhuj on Mundra – Bhuj Road is very popular for the Shiv Temple also known as Lakheshwara temple of Kerakot. This ancient temple was built in 10th century during the rule of Chaulukya - Solankis dynasty and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lots of parts of temple were impacted due to earth quick in year 1819 and 2001 but till date inner sanctum and sculptures are in good condition. Devotee and tourist can visit here any time and also visit Fort of Kapilkot beside the temple. Kera temple built in red stone in Solanki architectural style is one of the prime shrines built during the rule of Solani. Beautiful sculptures were carved on the temple walls including sculpture of celestial beings around temple campus. The top of the temple is decorated with ornamentation of eight triangle-shaped images in the form of chaitya windows where figures of human can be observed.
