Details of Tula Daan - Maha Daan
Dwarka is ancient pilgrimage centre located at the western end of Gujarat on the coast of Arabian Sea, one of the Sapta Puri – Seven ancient religious city and one of the Char Dham – four sacred pilgrimage of Sanatan Dharma. It is believed that Dwarka was built by Lord Vishwakarma to setup the kingdom of Lord Shree Krishna and first capital of Gujarat. It is very popular across the world and mainly in Vaishnava for the Jagat Mandir – Dwarkadhish Temple where millions of devotee of Lord Shree Krishna visits.
Tula Daan also famous as Maha Daan is one of the prominent ancient rituals of Sanatan Dharma as per sacred text and astrology as well. When any individual is suffer from health issue, Gruh Dosh, Pitru Dosh or any other hurdle then Tula Daan helps to cure each problems and attain the Moksha. As name suggest Tula- weight scale and Daan means charity, in this rituals individual for whom the Tula Daan is performed, will sit on one side of Tula and material like Grain, Sugar, Ghee etc should keep on other side as per faith and remedy. Satyabhama, the queen of Lord Dwarikadhish Shree Krishna wanted to top position in heart and life of Lord Shree Krishna, she donated the Krishna to Naradmuni. On realizing the mistakes she requested Naranmuni for the solution of this situation. Then Naranmuni mentioned about the Tula Daan, in which she has to donate gold equal weight of Lord Shree Krishna. In the ego she has accepted this and tried to weight the Krishna with Gold but she could not even after all her gold. Then another queen Rukmani – incarnation of Goddess Laxmi advice Satyabhama to put a Tulasi Pan with pure heart and devotion, miracally this helps her in Tula Daan.
It is also believed that Lord Shree Krishna himself had performed Tula Daan for his son Samba to cure the curse of Brahmins.
After the Kurukshetra war between Pandavas and Kauravas, King Yudhisthir and his brothers had perform the Tula Daan at Dwarka to get release from the sin done by them by killing their relatives.
