History of Kumbhariya Jain Tirth
Kumbhariya is known for its Jain temple built between periods 1062 - 1134 AD by Vimal Shah. These are group of five shrine of marble with beautiful carving. These shrines are dedicated to five Jain Tirthankar, Mahavir, Parshwanath, Neminath, Shantinath, Sambhavnath. Great architecture and great ambiance they constructed their temple like no one can see the god from the outside of the temple.
Beautiful design like other Jain Tirth
The design of all temples is same and built by Sompara community who are expert in temple architecture. Pillar, dome of temples is curved in such a way like other key Jain Temple, Dilwara, Ranakpur, Palitana etc. This temple has facility of Dharmashala and Bhojanlaya for devotee.
Another myth and tale as per the Jain Holy Scripture Updesh Saptati, Shri Pasil son of Gogamantri lived in this city. Once he visited Patan for business purpose, where he went to Rajvihar temple and observed beauty of temple closely. At that time rich man Shravika laughed at him and told whether you poor man want to built same kind of temple. Then Pasil started worship of Ma Devi Ambika for building a temple in Kumbhariya. Ma Devi pleased with his devotion and gave blessing. Then Pasil had started building of huge temple of God Neminath in dense forest of Arasana.
